As such, there’s a designated Poker Zone that attracts poker players from across the globe. There are four variations of poker available: Texas Hold’em, Manila, Crazy Pineapple and Omaha. You can enjoy cash games or poker tournaments in the Poker Zone, plus high stakes Hold’em.

Electronic gaming

There are two gaming floors at Adelaide Casino packed with electronic gaming machines. Along with hundreds of pokies you’ll also find electronic versions of roulette and baccarat. The casino houses the biggest collection of pokies you’ll find anywhere in South Australia with plenty of game variety and wagering requirements to suit all bankrolls.

Dining and entertainment at Adelaide Casino

Since the major refurbishment, the Adelaide Casino has secured its place as a premiere dining complex, offering a fantastic range of award-winning restaurants and bars. The selection is a lot smaller than you’ll find at major Australian casinos like Crown Melbourne, Crown Perth and Star Sydney, but the venues are of the highest quality. From the dining experiences, cultural cuisines, relaxed bites, extravagant bars and breezy beer gardens, the restaurant and bar options at the casino are:

  • Sean’s Kitchen
  • Madame Hanoi
  • Barossa Café
  • Café Junction
  • POP bar
  • Chandelier Bar
  • Grandstand Sports Bar
  • Oasis Outdoor Bar
  • Backyard Bar

There’s no hotel in the casino, but directly across the street you’ll find plenty of world-class accommodation options including the Stamford Plaza, InterContinental Adelaide, Oaks Embassy, The Playford and the Mercure Grosvenor.

Adelaide Casino loyalty program

The Premiere Rewards loyalty program allows you to earn points for every dollar spent on games or at any of the bars and restaurants in the casino complex. It’s free to join and offers all kinds of discounts and members-only promotions, so is well worth signing up for even if you’re just passing through Adelaide. Premiere Rewards members enjoy EZYPlay cashless gaming, higher bet limits, bigger jackpots, discounts on merchandise, free parking (for Sapphire status members only) and exclusive food and beverage offers.

History of the Adelaide Casino

The Adelaide Casino opened its doors in 1985 under licensing by the state owned Lotteries Commission. There was originally 89 table games on offer and a few years later the inclusion of electronic game machines resulted in significant growth.

In 2000, the casino was sold to the SKYCITY Entertainment Group and officially renamed SKYCITY Adelaide. Since it first opened, the casino has undergone several major refurbishments and extensions.

Today the casino is still owned by SKYCITY but resumed trading as Adelaide Casino in 2009. With the new licensing agreement and subsequent renovations in 2014, the number of table games increased to 200 and electronic game machines to 1,500. The casino is now the 10th largest employer in the state, employing over 1,000 staff and contributes around $19 million in state taxes annually.
