PokerStars now offers real money Net Entertainment casino games

PokerStars have recently added a selection of Net Entertainment real money casino games to their once poker-only site.

While PokerStars is predominantly still a poker gaming establishment, it has now gone live with the NetEnt casino-style games available via their downloadable format. However, these games are only available for Windows, Android and IOS7 users, while Mac users can only access the poker-only downloadable software.

This is because NetEnt’s downloadable software has only ever been compatible with Windows users, and more recently mobile devices, meaning Mac users once again miss out. However, the PokerStars site does state they are looking into making these type of games available for Mac users, and if this is true it would mean all NetEnt casinos could eventually employ downloadable games for Mac users, but only time will tell.

This addition to PokerStars has followed on the addition of NetEnt games to Full Tilt in February, and according to NetEnt’s Chief of European Market Operations, Enrico Bradamante, in a recent press release it was so successful it was an obvious move.

“Following our launch with Full Tilt in February, we are now pleased to also go live with PokerStars,” he said.

“I am confident that our world-class games will contribute to a successful entry into the casino segment for Rational Group and that their players will enjoy the ultimate player experience that our games offer”.

Interestingly, in 2013 the Rational Group, in charge of both Full Tilt and PokerStars, stated the latter site would only be offering Poker after they launched the NetEnt catalogue at Full Tilt. This change is clearly a result of the popularity of NetEnt games at Full Tilt.

The new games are now available at PokerStars and include a series of blackjack, baccarat, and roulette games, with six titles available via mobile devices; while there are selection of slots available at Full Tilt including the popular Gonzo’s Quest, but there are plans for expansion.

About Net Entertainment

Net Entertainment is a top leading software developer with the majority of online casino-style games. Their catalogue includes 3D slots, classic pokies, an array of standard table games and their variants, as well as causal games.

The software developer was established in 1996 thus garnering extensive experience within the industry. Initially, they offered both a downloadable version of their catalogue and instant play platform for their games, but with the increase in popularity of Mac products, which cannot access the downloadable catalogue, they moved to the instant play mode and stopped advertising their downloadable version. However, they have offered a selection of their downloadable games to Full Tilt and PokerStars for players to access via the downloadable poker platform.

Why would PokerStars add NetEnt games?

PokerStars is considered to be one of the biggest online poker sites, offering regular tournaments and tournaments which can land you a place in the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour. So why would such a highly ranked poker site need to add casino-style games to their gaming catalogue?

With the success of Full Tilt poker’s NetEnt addition, it can only be concluded that the Rational Group have realised while poker sites should predominantly offer poker, they need variation to keep players entertained. Additionally, some players may be waiting for tournaments and thus keeping them at PokerStars and Full Tilt, rather than having them go to a NetEnt casino where they may not come back, is better business.

Whether or not Full Tilt and PokerStars will eventually offer the entire NetEnt casino catalogue, potentially making them a Net Entertainment casino, only time will tell.
