NetEnt announces 3D sound technology for future pokies games

Last year’s ICE Totally Gaming Conference saw Net Entertainment announce one of the most anticipated pokies Guns N’ Roses – but this year’s announcement of 3D sound is even better.

The ICE Totally Gaming Conference 2016 took place from February 2 to February 4 and one of world’s best casino software manufacturers have stolen the spotlight once again announcing their latest gaming innovation – 3D Sound.

What is Net Entertainment’s 3D Sound?

The integration of 3D graphics, originally by BetSoft and then by NetEnt and other top leading software developers, has seen the way we play the pokies and other casino games change for the better. Online gaming now offers its own experience rather than a lack lustre version of a land-based experience.

This time Net Entertainment are leading the way then it comes to 3D innovation announcing their plans to offer 3D audio effects, which sees the sounds we generally hear on pokies manipulated to replicate real life sounds and immerse the player even further into the game.

As with 3D graphics, the sounds will appear as though they are all around you to create the intended ambience for the player.

We have included a video for you to watch where NetEnt have demonstrated what the sounds will be like, using an example of a voice right behind you, in your ear, and more. They even show what Gonzo’s Quest would be like transporting you directly to the jungle via audio effects, even with an annoying bug which sounds like it is flying all around you.

The demo also offers a comparison between the audio available on games now and what NetEnt 3D Sound will bring, proving it is quite the interesting addition and we are excited to see it in action.

So when can we expect NetEnt 3D Sound?

NetEnt 3D Sound Games

Unfortunately, there is no set release date of new games featuring NetEnt 3D Sound – as of yet. What we do know is it will be offered for games optimised for desktops, laptops, and even smartphones and tablets.

It was almost a full year between the announcement of the new pokie Guns N’ Roses and the release, so it may be almost 365 days until we see this new technology in action, but since we were treated to a lot of examples it might be here sooner than we think.

What’s more is the software developer also announced two new and exciting pokies – Jimi Hendrix and Motorhead, anticipated to be released in April or May, and September respectively. With their success of Guns N’ Roses its only natural they’d go down the music path again and perhaps these will be released with 3D Sound.

We can’t wait until a NetEnt game is released with 3D Sound and you will be the first to know when we find out any anticipated release dates for these titles or a 3D Sound game.
